چکیده
Tomato, which is regarded as an important worldwide crop, susceptible to gray mold caused by Botrytis cinerea. Selenium and methyl jasmonate can act antifungal agents against pathogenic infections. To clarify the effect of selenium on fungal pathogen, spore germination mycelial growth B. cinerea were investigated in vitro using rate method. Additionally, electrical conductivity, soluble protein content, malondialdehyde content oxalic acid secretion mycelium also determined further explore mechanism jasmonate. The results showed that application significantly increased cell membrane permeability treatment decreased Furthermore, supplementation medium with both effectively inhibited colony compromising integrity, reduced hypha. resulting incidence postharvest tomato combination was 34.7%, approximately half control. sum up, combined use normal physiological activity pathogenicity cinerea, suggests have potential for controlling disease fruits vegetables. These findings may offer a promising eco-friendly strategy control

Effect of Selenium on Control of Postharvest Gray Mold of Tomato Fruit and the Possible Mechanisms Involved
Selenium (Se) has important benefits for crop growth and stress tolerance at low concentrations. However, there is very little information on antimicrobial effect of Se against the economically important fungus Botrytis cinerea. In the present study, using sodium selenite as Se source, we investigated the effect of Se salts on spore germination and mycelial growth of the fungal pathogen in vitr...
متن کاملEffect of Methyl jasmonate treatment on antioxidant capacity, internal quality and postharvest life of raspberry fruit
Native population of raspberry fruits (Rubus spp) were treated with Methyl Jasmonate (MJ) fumigation and were assayed for the antioxidant capacity, total anthocyanins and postharvest quality after 7 days storage at 4?C. The result of experiment revealed that berries treated with methyl jasmonate (MJ) showed higher antioxidant capacity and total anthocyanins compared to the controled ones (non...
متن کاملThe Effect of Postharvest Methyl Jasmonate Treatment on Ethylene Biosynthesis, Antioxidant Capacity and Shelf Life of Strawberry
Strawberry is one of the highly consumed fruits which are cultivated in wide areas of the world. The most important problem of the strawberry is low storability and high postharvest losses; hence, more than 50% of harvested fruit is lost in Iran. The purpose of this research was to investigate biochemical and shelf life reaction of Camarosa cultivar to different concentrations of methyl jasmona...
متن کاملMethyl Jasmonate Induces Papain Inhibitor(s) in Tomato Leaves.
Leaves of 18- to 24-d-old tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum) plants exposed to gaseous methyl jasmonate (MJ) for 24 h at 30[deg]C in continuous light contained high levels of soluble protein that inhibited papain. Chromatographic analysis demonstrated that the active protein had a molecular mass of 80 to 90 kD. Induction of papain inhibitor was directly related to the concentration of air-borne M...
متن کاملAnalysis of Clonostachys rosea-Induced Resistance to Tomato Gray Mold Disease in Tomato Leaves
Tomato gray mold disease, caused by Botrytis cinerea, is a serious disease in tomato. Clonostachys rosea is an antagonistic microorganism to B. cinerea. To investigate the induced resistance mechanism of C. rosea, we examined the effects of these microorganisms on tomato leaves, along with changes in the activities of three defense enzymes (PAL, PPO, GST), second messengers (NO, H2O2, O2(-)) an...
